The official dedication and opening of Veteran's Way will take place on Wednesday, February 6th at 1:30 p.m. at the west end of 50th Avenue in Stettler. The Town of Stettler is renaming 50th Avenue as "Veteran's Way" to honor those who served in Canada's military in past and present conflicts.

On a site note, that horse looks a bit under the influence. Actually I think I saw that horse hanging around with this gopher... ![]() By hermetic at 2008-02-03 so that might explain things a bit... he he And in addition to a gopher I think a coyote really should be included as well. I will try to find a good picture of one of these trickster animals as well as a better, or more appropriate perhaps, picture of a gopher... or are they really Richardson ground squirrels around these parts? |

I love Raccoons, though it wouldn't really convey the wildlife of Alberta as well as some others would. Thanks for your vote and post James. Yes there are perhaps more than a few local representative animals not included here which really should be. You or anyone may feel free to recommend the addition of one or more of these. And if one has a good picture, which we would be able to use here, they can feel free to point us to that as well. All these images are 114px X 114px, and head shots, rather than full body shots, are preferred... but all good photos will be considered. Some service such as ImageShack is a good way to upload a picture which can be then embedded in a post here for everyone to look at and would be better than trying to mail it directly to this site. Quote On a site note, that horse looks a bit under the influence. I think he might've been out partying with that goat and the kitten. ![]() |

Hi, new here. I'm James (Al Schiers son). Introductions aside, who's going to be performing at this Country Music Legends thing? I'm not normally into country, but just thought I'd check. Well.... I don't know precisely.... I'm going to bet the lineup is something like this: Lucille Starr, Joe Kozak & Metis Jiggs I think we'll have to put a call in to Vern's Barbershop tomorrow to find out the details. Please note as well that this event is a fundraiser for the Stettler Health Foundation. |

My opinion on what the site mascot would be is this:
The cow would probably be the obvious choice, and I voted for it. (Plus, the Cow is an underdog, despite the fact that it is not a dog.) It's the animal most relating to Alberta in general, so it would make sense. I love Raccoons, though it wouldn't really convey the wildlife of Alberta as well as some others would. On a site note, that horse looks a bit under the influence. |
