That is just so funny.  It should win a youtube award if there is such a thing.

And thank goodness election fixing in Alberta is so well-refined that there's no need for all those complicated machines.

Jennifer Wigmore ran in the byelection to replace Shirley McClellan as MLA but is not running in this election. Amanda Boulton is the Green Party candidate, although I don't know why since she's apparently not even a resident of this riding but an employee at the University of Calgary. There is no So-Cred candidate to my knowledge.

Liberal leader Kevin Taft gave the Drum-Stettler riding its' first mention of the campaign in a talk to supporters at his campaign headquarters in Edmonton-Riverview.  The Edmonton Sun quoted Taft as saying "In our view, the New Democrats are almost irrelevant.  They finished fifth in Calgary-Elbow, they finished seventh in Drumheller-Stettler. Their base is a handful of four constituencies in Edmonton and they'll be lucky to hang on to those by the time we're done."

The head in the badlands near Cypress Hills: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badlands_Guardian

If you look in the same general area, there are a lot of other faces and unusual shapes.

Hmmm, the coyote and gopher have a lot of traction, as would the snowy owl, whitetail deer, and moose.  Tough one to call.  Maybe the horse (in Alberta) because it could represent both domestic and wild animals in one mascot?

Bah Ram Ewe.

These are the candidates, in no particular order, as far as I can tell at this point:

LIB   Tom Dooley

NDP  Richard Bough

PC    Jack Hayden  (incumbent)

GRN  Jennifer Wigmore

Actually, this is what we have found out to date:

PC - Jack Hayden (incumbent)
Liberal - Tom Dooley
Wildrose Alliance - Dave France
NDP - Richard Bough
Green Party - no word yet on who the candidate will be
Social Credit - no word yet on who the candidate will be, but the phone number for the constituency association on the website has been assigned to a new customer.  We've been unable to confirm the party's status in the riding for the 2008 election at this time.
